The CCHS Building Committee voted to approve funding that authorizes Turner Construction to begin site work and demolition activities in the coming weeks. The unanimous approval means that the contractor will capture the site with fencing, install temporary utilities, start demolition activities and begin earth work.
At an earlier meeting, the CCHS Building Committee requested KVA to perform an analysis on the cost of re-using existing bus depot trailers and the cost of Turner Construction providing construction trailers. KVA reported the results of the analysis at the January 30 meeting and it was determined that it was more cost effective for Turner to provide the trailers. This approach will save the project an estimated $289,220.
